# **Statement of Beliefs** ## **I. The Nature of God** We believe in one God (Deuteronomy 6:4), who exists eternally as three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (1 John 5:7). God is all-knowing (Psalm 147:5), all-powerful (Jeremiah 32:17), everywhere present (Psalm 139:7-10), and unchanging (Malachi 3:6). He is holy (Isaiah 6:3), just (Deuteronomy 32:4), loving (1 John 4:8), and eternal (Psalm 90:2). The Trinity is one God, not three, with each Person fully God and sharing the same divine essence (Matthew 28:19). ## **II. Jesus Christ, the Son of God** We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16), fully God and fully man (John 1:1, 14). He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:20-23), lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), and died for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). His death on the cross paid the full penalty for sin (Romans 5:8-9), and He rose bodily from the dead on the third day (Luke 24:6-7). Jesus ascended to heaven, where He intercedes for believers as our High Priest (Hebrews 7:25) and will one day return in power and glory (Acts 1:11). ## **III. Salvation by Grace through Faith** We believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received by faith alone in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). Man is a sinner, incapable of saving himself (Romans 3:23), but God justifies the ungodly through the imputed righteousness of Christ (Romans 4:5-6). Eternal life is secure in Christ, and no one can lose salvation (John 10:28-29). Repentance is a change of mind toward God and faith in Jesus (Acts 20:21), not turning from sin to be saved (John 3:18). Salvation is not by works but by trusting fully in the finished work of Christ on the cross (Titus 3:5-7). ## **IV. The Bible** We believe the Bible is the inspired, preserved Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God has perfectly preserved His Word for all generations (Psalm 12:6-7), and the Authorized King James Version is the faithful translation in English. The Bible contains all that is necessary for salvation and godly living (2 Peter 1:3). It is the final authority for faith and practice, and no man, council, or creed has equal authority with Scripture (Matthew 4:4). The Bible is not subject to private interpretation but was given by holy men moved by the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:20-21). ## **V. The Church** We believe the local church is a congregation of saved, baptized believers (Acts 2:41-42), called to preach the gospel to the world (Mark 16:15) and to edify one another in faith (Ephesians 4:12). The church observes two ordinances: baptism by immersion for believers (Matthew 28:19) and the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of Christ’s death (1 Corinthians 11:24-25). Christ is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18), and every believer is a part of His spiritual body (1 Corinthians 12:27). ## **VI. Eternal Security of the Believer** We believe that once a person is saved, they are eternally secure in Christ (John 10:28-29). Nothing can separate the believer from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39). Salvation is not maintained by works or obedience (Romans 5:19) but by the power of God (1 Peter 1:5). Believers are sealed by the Holy Ghost until the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). ## **VII. The Future** We believe in the literal return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom on earth (Revelation 19:11-16). There will be a resurrection of the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to eternal judgment (John 5:28-29). The saved will enjoy everlasting life with God (Revelation 21:3-4), while the unsaved will face eternal punishment in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15). --- [[Homepage]]
